Pisé - Earth Construction Exhibition July 5 to October 4
The exhibition will offer the opportunity to be acquainted with clay as a construction material and to learn about its history. The components of clay and its processing will be explored as well as pictures of historic and current earth constructions presented. Additionally, experimental models of students will be exhibited.
At the opening night, Roger Bolten will give a talk on construction methods with rammed earth as well as illustrate the untapped potential of industrial production in the area of rammed earth construction.
At the Finissage, Guillaume Habert, professor of the Chair of Sustainable Construction, will give a talk on the advantages of clay as a building material, and explain, why its potential has been largely neglected. Felix Hilgert will present his research on the recyclability of excavation material in Switzerland.
