Bombyx project – a design integrated parametric tool for real-time Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) was presented at the Sustainable Built Environment 2019 in Graz by Saso Basic, a staff member of the Chair of Sustainable Construction, ETH Zürich. A team of domain experts – Alexander Hollberg, Alina Galimshina, Guillaume Habert and the software engineer Saso Basic – designed and implemented an LCA tool called Bombyx, which is used in the early stages of the design to simulate the CO2 impact of a building and allow the user to optimize geometry and building materials. The presentation was very well received by the audience, thus resulting in Best Paper Award for the team.
