Guillaume Habert argues that contrary to the moral of the popular children’s story of the three little pigs who built their houses from straw, wood and stone respectively, we should in fact use straw and wood to construct our houses. These materials do not only perform well, but also store CO2 in our buildings. Furthermore, because materials such as straw and bamboo absorb CO2 while growing, as well as growing really fast, their use can contribute to the healing of our environment.
