We warmly welcome Clémence Marteaux!
Clémence Marteaux has recently joined the Chair of Sustainable Construction as an intern until December 2023. She is a final year engineering student at INSA Lyon, France, majoring in civil engineering and urbanism.
She is working on the material inventory for the sustainable building challenge in China, including materials like soil, wood and straw.
The project's objective is to work on formulating an earth concrete that meets the physical, mechanical, and aesthetic requirements of the project designed by Professor Junjie LI for the Solar Decathlon challenge. This concrete must be as environmentally virtuous as possible by avoiding the use of cement and minimizing its carbon footprint. Additionally, the project faces other constraints such as time and manufacturing methods. In the end, the designed concrete must be adapted to local conditions and ensure low energy consumption.
The chair of Sustainable Construction intends to embed sustainability in all aspects of the built environment. For more information, please visit our website.
