After obtaining a Bachelor in Architecture, Coralie Brumaud graduated in 2008 from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (France) and the Université Bretagne Sud (France) with a dual Master degree in Civil and Mechanical engineering. During one year, as part of her diploma, she studied at the Université Laval (Canada).
In 2011, she obtained her PhD in Materials and Structures from the Université Paris-est, defending a dissertation titled “Microscopic origins of the rheological consequences of the addition of cellulose ethers in a cementitious suspension”. This work, funded by the Dow Chemical Company, was carried out at the Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussées (IFSTTAR) in Paris.
After her PhD, Coralie Brumaud worked for three years at Saint-Gobain Recherche (France) as Research engineer. She was in charge of projects dealing with formulation and rheological optimization of concrete, mortar and gypsum products.
In March 2014, she joined the Chair of Sustainable Construction at ETH Zürich as a Postdoc Researcher in the area of alternative construction materials, before obtaining a Senior Research Associate position.
