Summer School on Environmental Design Strategies – Last chance: 4 places remaining!
Alexander Hollberg, now Postdoc at the Chair of Sustainable Construction, will organize a summer school “Environmental Design Strategies” at Bauhaus University Weimar this August. Application deadline is May 1st and there are 4 places remaining!
Re/-Source the Built Environment: Lecture by Samuel Bonnet, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)
Samuel Bonnet, head of construction (Water and Habitat Unit) at the ICRC lectured on "Construction for people affected by armed conflicts". He gave insights on the condition of protracted conflicts and how humanitarian assistance connects to development. Conflicts in urban areas impose to reconsider traditional humanitarian boundaries. He called for specialists on the built environment: The ICRC needs experienced architects and engineers for large-scale construction projects.

Dr. Jean-Claude Morel, research professor at Coventry University and head of the Chair “Test and characterization of earth-based building materials and elements” in RILEM, gave an inspiring lecture by video-conference on March 29th 2017 at the course Re/-source the built environment. Topic of the lecture: “Earth material: vernacular or prefabricated.”
