Jianxiang Ma joined the Chair of Sustainable Construction as a Ph.D. student

We warmly welcome Jianxiang Ma as Ph.D student at the Chair of Sustainable Construction

Jianxiang Ma

Before joining the Chair, Jianxiang Ma worked as a research assistant at the Innovation Institute of Beihang University where he tried to integrate the LCA method into the manufacturing industry.

In 2019, he received his M.Sc. degree in Integrated Building Systems from the Department of Architecture at ETH Zurich. He did his master’s thesis entitled “Dynamic LCA of BIPV designs” under the supervision of Prof. Habert, Prof. Hollberg, and Dr. Galimishina. This thesis compared the payback time of different BIPV designs using the dynamic LCA method and the conventional static LCA method and showed the high environmental impacts of early design decisions.

His research interests include:

  • Dynamic LCA in early design stage
  • Real-time LCA for construction and manufacturing
  • Uncertainty quantification and sensitivity analysis of LCA method
  • Life cycle cost in the context of supply chain

The Chair of Sustainable Construction intends to ground sustainability in all disciplines involved in the built environment. For more information visit our Website.
