Alina Galimshina at Scientifica 2023
On September the 2nd and 3rd 2023, Alina Galimshina presented her work at Scientifica 2023 with the presentation titled 'Renovation of Buildings: Yes, but How?'.
The results of the study revealed an unexpected conclusion for the audience: the replacement of windows is neither cost-effective nor environmentally-friendly. This surprising outcome is attributed to the gray emissions generated during the manufacture of new windows, which are not offset by the emissions saved through the energy efficiency during building use.
Nevertheless, all participants expressed their confidence in bio-based insulation materials over polystyrene or rock wool.
