The Chair of Sustainable Construction presented at CISBAT 2023

Dr. Alina Galimshina, Yasmine Priore, Marin Pellan and Anastasija Komkova presented their research at CISBAT 2023: The Built Environment in Transition.

During the conference, Dr. Alina Galimshina, Yasmine Priore and Pedram Mirabian hosted a workshop “Low carbon building renovation. How and how much?” on using design-integrated parametric tools Bombyx and Hive for the analysis of embodied emissions and operational energy consumption in LCA.
Furthermore, Yasmine Priore presented her work on building level strategies to reduce GHG emissions and meet net-zero carbon budgets, with a presentation on renovations and a poster on new construction: “Embodied net-zero compatible buildings? They already exist!”.
Marin Pellan presented a study on “Decarbonisation roadmap for the building activity: LCA modelling of the renovation lever”, examining the impacts of renovation scenarios at individual building and building stock levels, using French national building stock database.
Finally, Anastasija Komkova presented “The Urban-Industrial metabolism: contribution of waste recycling to the circular economy objectives within the construction sector”, a multi-objective optimization framework for recycling municipal solid waste ashes and mineral wool waste in alternative concrete.
