Optimization of operational and embodied energy and carbon can be contradictory to each other. The project at hand aims to analyze best-case construction examples, gather Life Cycle Assessment data, identify and evaluate the upscaling potential of measures to minimize the before mentioned contradiction, and to estimate the acceptability of those measures by conducting stakeholder inquiries. Recommendations for action towards an effective reduction of the primary energy demand for construction shall be worded. In order to increase market shares, a platform is recommended to create greater visibility for innovative building materials and components.
